80th Anniversary Exhibition – Thanks to Public

The members of Kirkcaldy Stamp and Postcard Club, would like to thank the general public near and far who attended their recent 80th Anniversary Exhibition in Kirkcaldy Museum, making it a success, showing that our efforts in writing up and displaying the small samples of our collections were appreciated by the visitors who took the time to come along and see us, our thanks have to go to the Museum staff who made our 3 days so much easier with their continued help. Former members and the Secretaries of Edinburgh and Perth Philatelic Societies made appearances that our membership would like to single them out for thanks, for their continued support.

For people interested the display’s included :-  Boer War, Aeroplanes, USA, 19th Century Pictorial Covers, Folded Booklets 1975-2000, Royal Trains, Postal History of Fife, A Wee Stroll down the Beveridge Park (postcards), How to Stop a Gossip (tongues), Smokey Bear Fire Prevention, Terms used in Stamp Collecting, 1936 The 3 Kings, Bahamas First Day Covers, Kirkcaldy High Street (postcards), Kirkcaldy Postal History, Kirkcaldy in Granny’s Day (postcards), General Postal History, Autographed First Day Covers, QEII Coronation, Millenium Series 1999-2001, Folded Counter Booklets, The World in Stamps (Thematic stamp examples which children might like to collect), World Scout Jamborees, Stitched Booklets 1904 – 1974, The Royal Mail, Post Boxes and Postmen, New Zealand Health Stamps, British Birds, Birds of the World, First Flight Covers from New Zealand, and finally a mixture of different topics on postcards.
